Understanding High-Pressure Die Casting
What is High-Pressure Die Casting?
During the high-pressure die casting process, molten metal is injected under very high pressure (generally between 2,000 and 30,000 psi) and high speed into a two-part steel mold (die). After the metal cools to a solid, the die opens, and the casting is ejected. This process enables excellent detail, high repeatability, and excellent surface finish.
